Get to know Elev8 Lagree Fitness Studio, one of the newest and hottest fitness studios and the first Lagree Studio in the country. Certified Calm had a chance to chat with one of the owners of Elev8, Janie Hale.

 

 Hi Janie, how long have you been a certified trainer of Lagree Fitness?

I began taking Lagree Fitness classes in 2010 in Los Angeles with my friend, Jenny, (who is now a Lagree Fitness master trainer, model, and instructor). I quit my day job as a photographer and switch to fitness instructor in 2014. I’ve been active all my life, focusing mostly on marathon training but when I discovered the Megaformer™, it was love at first sight!

What sets Lagree apart from other fitness activities?

Our Lagree Fitness™ classes combine strength, endurance, cardiovascular, balance, flexibility, and core training, saving you time and maximizing results. We get our clients in the aerobic zone and stay there for the entire 45 minutes. The workout utilizes slow and controlled movements to activate the slow-twitch muscle fibers, leading to the long, lean, toned results we are all seeking. We work our muscles to the point of fatigue, forcing them to grow while increasing your rate of fat and calorie burning.

 

Our instructors are skilled in adjusting the spring resistance to ensure that we safely cater to a variety of clientele in our group classes. Private sessions are great for those who are new to exercising, recovering from an injury, or simply love the freedom to book outside of the Elev8 Lagree Fitness Studio class schedule.

Any special preparation one does need to do before practicing Lagree?

We recommend that our first timers take the day before and after their Lagree session as a rest day. Because we focus on muscle burnout, our clients find that they’re using muscles they didn’t even know they had!

 

What are the items that s/he needs to wear and bring for Lagree?

Bring your Klean Kanteen water bottle (we have a refill station) your favorite ToeSox grip socks, a positive attitude and eagerness to learn! Ditch the cell phone and take some time to disconnect and focus on yourself.

 

How does your fitness activity make you #RevitaliseCalm?

You’ll find yourself getting stronger and when you do, we make the workout more challenging. It never gets easier, it just becomes more manageable. We let our clients rediscover their strength and Elev8 their mindset by challenging their body and abilities.
